"Everybody has a secret world inside of them. All of the people of the world, I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe" ~ Neil Gaiman (A Game of You)

Why Do I Write?

Because someone told me I was a good writer when I was a child.
Because I love the taste of words.
Because I think I'm very clever.
Because I believe 45 is old enough to pry the hands away from my mouth.
Because I love it.
Because I become intoxicated by it.
Because I love to read.
Because I'm looking for meaning in my life.
Because I'm looking for meaning in my tragedies.
Because sometimes I want to scream.
Because I can.

Wonderful, Shelli! You really captured it. I need to let you inspire me. Lately, I've been spending too much time on all the rest of it (research, sending out pitches, etc.) and not enough on actual writing.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I love that! Know exactly how that feels. :)

Thanks Cathryn, and I don't think I could stop if I tried. :)

VV -- Welcome! I'm glad you've found my blog. And I think you hit on my number one reason for writing.
